Ophias Sherewa, Managing DirectorOphias is the TPS Managing Director. He is in charge of the Africa region business and operations. He started his career at a leading financial institution in Zimbabwe before joining TPS as Project Manager. He progressed to the role of Technical Director before taking up his current position. Ophias has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Zimbabwe; and an MBA from the same University. A devoted Christian, Ophias spends his spare time doing charity work in his community.
Norman Roberts-York, Head Payment SolutionsNorman has 14 years experience in the acquiring payments arena. Initially employed as the acquiring systems manager at Nedbank in South Africa where he was responsible for the host and terminal systems from a business perspective. In 1998 Norman moved to the UK and joined Hypercom as Customer Services Director for EMEA, where he setup and ran the managed services operations for 4 years. In 1999 Norman was appointed Operations Director for EMEA responsible for the merchant helpdesk, terminal installations and collections, terminal repairs and refurbishments and order management for EMEA. In 2003, Norman joined VeriFone to setup their managed services operation for the UK. Once this was established and running smoothly, Norman joined the UK sales team, selling payment solutions backed-up by the VeriFone managed services. Norman led the sales bid that landed VeriFone the preferred supplier status for Lloyds TSB Cardnet. Norman is Head of Payment Solutions for TPS.
Raoul du Plessis, Chief Information Officer Raoul has had a varied IT career of over 20 years. Raoul boasts a diversity of experience in a number of roles including: University Lecturer in IT, a Software Development, IT development manager and IT architect. Raoul has worked extensively in the financial services field where he has been responsible for the technical component of many large projects ranging from transactional banking web sites, treasury trading systems, regulatory reporting systems, payment system architectures and large scale system replacements at some of South Africa’s largest retail and investment banks.
Raoul holds a Master of Commerce in Information Systems from the University of Cape Town.
Sarah-Joan Nott, Senior Manager – Special ProjectsSarah-Joan manages projects for TPS, with current focus on electronic voucher dispensing. Bringing with her 13 years’ in-depth experience in many facets of information technology, general and financial management, she joined TPS in January 2009. She ran her own successful IT support, sales and consultancy business, Thought Works for six years before joining EFT Corporation, where she gained exposure to Postilion and Hypercom, as Project Manager and General Manager, Technical and Operations. Previous IT experience was clocked up as Technical Sales Manager at Central African Software and Equipment and Support Technician at Realtime Computers.
Sarah-Joan holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Cape Town, she majored in Information Systems and Financial Accounting. She has a span of post-graduate IT certifications and qualifications, including Project Leadership Certification from the University of Technology, Mauritius. Leisure pursuits include mountain biking, hiking, mountaineering, game viewing, the arts, especially theatre, and banknote collecting.
Vitalis Gumbo, Technical Services ManagerVitalis is in charge of the Technical Services Division at TPS and his key responsibilities include systems implementation support and customer service.
Vitalis holds a Bachelor of Business Studies and Computing Science Degree; and a Master of Business Administration Degree; both from the University of Zimbabwe. Vitalis has just over 10 years experience that includes electronic banking at both strategic and operation level with a Commercial bank in Zimbabwe. He has been with TPS for over 5 years in various technical roles including project management, systems design and development. He is a keen tennis supporter.
Canaan Madzingira, Finance and Administration Manager
Canaan has over 15 years experience in the finance field earned from exposure in some of Zimbabwe's leading manufacturing and service organizations. Canaan's thrust at TPS is to ensure the company's prosperity by effectively managing its financial resource base, and he is also in charge of the day to day administration. He has been with TPS since 2003.
He holds a Bachelor of Technology Honors Degree in Accountancy and is currently studying for a Masters of Business Administration with the University of Zimbabwe.
Reginald Vhumbunu, Postilion Systems Manager Reginald has over six years experience in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of mission-critical systems. He is charged with the overall responsibility of switching and value-added systems design development and implementation at TPS in Zimbabwe as well as in the African region. Reginald has been with TPS since 1999.
Reginald is currently studying for a Master of Business Administration Degree with the University of Zimbabwe.
Barbara Bvudzawabaya, POS Systems ManagerBarbara oversees POS systems and application development at TPS. She is also in charge of the research and development team that seeks to always be ahead in the market in terms of developing innovative solutions in the dynamic payments industry. Since joining TPS in 2005, she has held several roles including: developer of retail and banking applications and systems engineer supervising systems development team.
Monica Mureriwa, Marketing.Monica is responsible for Marketing, with her primary experience being in managing reputable International brands such as Coca – Cola and Barclays, within the Southern Africa region. Monica holds a Bachelor of business studies degree from the University of Zimbabwe, a Master in International Marketing from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, UK and is currently working towards an Executive MBA with the University of Capetown. She has a strong bias for operational execution to drive results.
Monica enjoys walking and any opportunity to exercise, she treasures spending quality time with her family.
